IETG help Aire Valley Team reach their 1,000th placement

Water Services specialist IETG has appointed the 1000th employee in a scheme to get more people to work in Leeds.

Anna Hamilton is the latest recruit to IETG through the Aire Valley Leeds Employment Access Team, an organisation which was set up to encourage residents from the local community benefit from new jobs created by the massive development taking place in the area.

IETG, established for over 25 years, moved to their current offices at Cross Green Industrial Estate in 1997 and currently employs 260 staff within the group. Since the Aire Valley scheme was established in 2001, IETG have been using the Aire Valley team more and more to find their ideal employees.

When a recent vacancy arose, the successful candidate was no other than Anna Hamilton who is now astonishingly, the 1,000th employee to be taken on through the scheme!

Melanie Devall, Human Resources Manager for IETG said, “Anna is a fantastic employee and seems to be adjusting brilliantly. She is a perfect example of what Aire Valley Employment can offer our business and the general community.”

To celebrate the occasion, Anna was presented with a gift to congratulate her on her new role, from Councillor, Andrew Carter of Leeds City Council and Chair of the Aire Valley Leeds Regeneration Board.

Andrew Carter said “We are delighted to have reached the 1000 mark and hope our partnership with such a well established, sizeable business such as IETG will bring future employment.”
